A FLOOD warning has been issued for the River Vyrnwy at Llanymynech by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

The warning was updated by NRW before 10am on Friday as Storm Eunice begins to reach the UK before the main storm later on Friday.

A spokesman for NRW says the river may be close to hitting a peak of 3.9m on Friday and residents around the the villages and Four Crosses are being urged to take care.

They added: "All peak levels are based on the latest forecast as of 9am.

"Llanymynech was 3.9 metres.

"A peak level between 4.3 and 4.6 metres is possible this morning.

"The following roads could be affected by flooding: The B4398 near the canal at New Bridge, Llanymynech. The A483 between Llanymynech and Four Crosses, just south of Llanymynech Bridge.

"This message will be updated by 6pm."
