With traffic already high in teh area due to the Newbridge Road closure, the A483 closure caused chaos for traffic in the villages.

One local resident said: "The infrastructure isn’t sufficient to support this volume of traffic and we’ve seen congestion during peak times and damage to the bridge in Pontcysyllte numerous times since the road closure."

Another, who lives on the road pictured, added: "The traffic increase during the last year has been huge. It was always a quiet road but now there is always traffic up and down. I wouldn’t mind but the road isn’t made for this amount."
