ONLY one match was played in the Ardal North East League as Chirk AAA eased to a 6-1 win at home to bottom of the table Four Crosses.

Crosses forged a second minute lead through Will Howard but the Colliers rallied with replies from Liam Sklenar, Lewis Clamp and Jack Edwards before the break.

Chirk settled the outcome with three late goals with Jake Jones netting either side of Jake Ellison's strike to ensure the home side returned to the top of the table.

Elsewhere Phil Hughes and Alun Hughes shared the limelight with doubles as Meifod celebrated a 6-1 win over Llanfyllin Town Reserves in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League.

Lee Wilde and Robert Evans goals completed the derby victory while the Magpies netted a consolation through William Davies.

Four Crosses Reserves enjoyed better fortune with a 3-0 win at Llanfair United Reserves in the FAW Central Reserves League sealed thanks to a Robbie Morris double and Max Thomas strike.

Meanwhile Chirk Town maintained their North East Wales Premier League title bid on track with a 6-3 win at Castell Alun Colts.

Nicky Williams led the scoring with a hat-trick while Joseph Doyle-Davies added a brace and Tom Freeman ensured the points while the hosts replied with goals from Craig Worthington, Dain Smith and Ben Bailey.

St Martins' struggles in the North West Counties South League continued with a 5-0 defeat at home to Brocton with Regan Smith starring with a hat-trick while Jake Thomas and Ben Haddaway strikes ensured the spoils.

While Morda United's Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League clash with Gobowen Celtic was postponed, the first division cup clash between St Martins Reserves at Brown Clee did take place with the Oswestry club losing 2-1 despite a reply from Jake Cross.
