IT WAS a busy weekend for Shropshire firefighters around Oswestry after a series of road traffic collisions (RTC) and call outs.
Two crews from the town were sent to Twmpath Lane, in Gobowen, shortly before 5pm on Saturday after reports of a car involved in an RTC was leaking fuel.
West Mercia Police also attended the scene, while firefighters made it safe to get the road – which connects Gobowen and Whittington – reopen again.
Emergency services spent around two hours at the scene.
Meanwhile, one crew from Baschurch station attended an RTC on the A528 in Ellesmere at 6.40pm on Saturday.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the vehicle had rolled over but no-one was trapped – small gear was used to make it safe.
The casualty was left in the care of ambulance staff.
Also on Saturday, there had been a further call-out from Shrewsbury to aid with an RTC in Llanfyllin at around 3.30pm.
