A Powys post office which closed its doors due to "unforeseen circumstances" three years ago is to reopen in the new year.

Llanfihangel Post Office is scheduled to re-open at an existing location in the new year.

The branch at Haulfryn, Llanfihangel, near Llanfyllin, closed temporarily due to “unforeseen circumstances” in 2018.

The service will resume with its existing postmaster.

It is slated to re-open to “restore vital services to the community” on January 12, 2022 at 9 am.

The opening hours will be 9 am to 1 pm on a Wednesday, promising a wide range of services and products that will be available to the public.

Carol Williams, Post Office Network Provision lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to the Llanfihangel area as we know how important Post Office services are to a community.”
