THE LLANFYLLIN & District Flower Club recently held their final meeting of the year.
The group’s Christmas meeting toom place on December 6, at the Llanfyllin Public Institute.
The club was treated to a demonstration by florist Jane Pugh, who presented arrangements based around the theme of “chocolate Christmas fantasy”. She produced floral arrangements based on various types of chocolates.
These included inspirations from chocolate orange to mints and the classic Cadbury’s bar.
As well as dazzling the group with her arrangements Jane reportedly entertained the group “with her comical stories and Christmas songs that she sang while she worked, , cheering everyone’s mood & getting all members into the festive spirit.”
Club president, Mary Lewis, proposed a vote of thanks to Jane for an enjoyable evening and her arrangements.
One of Jane’s floral arrangements was given away as the top prize in the raffle at the end of the night.
The evening ended with mince pies and hot drinks.
The club will hold its next meeting on January 17, 2022, at 7 pm in the Llanfyllin Public Institute.
