A SOLITARY strike from Aron Hughes-Jones after 23 minutes was enough to consign Llanrhaeadr to a 1-0 defeat at Llandudno as their JD Cymru North struggles continued.

Elsewhere a Joe Haycock hat-trick inspired Berriew to a 4-2 win at Four Crosses in the Ardal North East League.

Ed Baker broke the deadlock after 15 minutes before Haycock netted twice as the Rhiewiders established a healthy interval lead.

Rhys Owen reduced the arrears with 20 minutes remaining only for Haycock to complete his hat-trick and restore Berriew's three goal cushion.

Meanwhile Chirk AAA's title bid suffered a further dent with a 2-1 defeat at Rhos Aelwyd in the Ardal North East League.

Having lost their first game of the season at Llanfair United in their last outing the Colliers had looked to get back to winning ways.

However a Scott Reeves strike gave Rhos a 38th minute lead before Thomas Smith sealed the points with a second in injury time and despite Louie Middlehurst's last gasp riposte the Colliers left Clarke Street empty handed.
