SHROPSHIRE Council has been forced to warn drivers to ignore Sat Nav instructions on the as-yet-incomplete Mile End roundabout.

The council took to its own social media channels to warn drivers that the road navigation systems have already updated to show the roundabout as completed.

With the roundabout's completion date facing being extended, the council says following the updated Sat Navs may take people into the site compound and the wrong exits.

The council tweeted: "Nobody likes change and things take a little while to adjust to, so thanks to everyone for your patience as we complete the work at Mile End in Oswestry.

"We have been made aware that some Sat Nav systems have updated to show the roundabout as complete already – and some people have been taken down the wrong exit.

"While, we are nearly there, we are not done just yet, so please follow the signs at the roundabout rather than your Sat Nav.

"Nobody wants to end up in the site compound."

The works are expected to now last until December 13 with overnight closures, with hopes receding of a finish date for the start of the month.

The changes to the roundabout are part of wider alterations with the creation of the major innovation park which will be completed early next year.
