ONE of the most popular theatre groups in Oswestry is getting ready for their post-Covid-19 return with a funny farce of a play.
The Attfield Theatre's performing group, which is based in the town's Guildhall, is currently rehearsing for 'Wild Goose Chase', a farce based on mistaken identities full of colourful characters.
The show will run from Monday, December 6 until Saturday, December 11.
Michaela Turner, from the Attfield, said the group is looking forward to their return.
She said: "Rehearsals are well under way for the first production at the Attfield Theatre since Covid-19 meant it had to close its doors.
"Wild Goose Chase sees Chester Dreadnought try to take refuge in the crumbling stately home of Lord and Lady Elrood, while trying to escape from a pair of crooks who are eager to get hold of something very important.
"Not even the trigger happy Lord can keep them at bay.
"Suits of armour, secret doors, mistaken identities and colourful characters all help to provide the variety of fare that goes into the making of this funny farce.
"The theatre looks forward to welcoming its audiences back once again, for a production which promises to be a lively and entertaining evening of fun."
Each show will start at 7.45pm and for more, head to www.facebook.com/groups/attfieldtheatre
