WELSHPOOL Sharks Swimming Club is the home of two British champions.

Kim Collins and Dan Hussey returned from the British Seniors/Masters short course Championships in Sheffield with further silverware to add to their open water championships titles as well as setting a host of new Welsh records.

Ellesmere teacher Collins hails from Glyn Ceiriog and Hussey is Oswestry based and teaches at Marches School.

Hussey set a new Welsh record to end third in the 100m freestyle and crowned British 50m backstroke champion on the first day of competition.

Collins also ended the first day with gold and a new Welsh record to be crowned 50m breaststroke champion.

Both returned to action on the second day with Collins ending third in the 100m medley and second in the 100m breaststroke while Hussey claimed another gold and set a new record in the 200m backstroke.

The third and final say saw the duo end on a high with Hussey claiming gold in the 100m backstroke while Collins smashed the Welsh record on her way to winning the 200m breaststroke

Head coach Steve Parker hailed the stars after a combined 11 PBs, nine Welsh records and five British titles.
