Two half-term children’s activities are set to get underway at a Welshpool venue next week.

On Wednesday October 27 between 11am-1pm, visitors to Y Lanfa, the former Powysland Museum, can learn to ‘Hex Like a Roman!’ during two hours of ancient Roman witchcraft and spells, while on Thursday, October 28, between 11am-1pm, Boil and Bubble will go through some medieval potions and cures.

Meanwhile, items from the museum’s collection will also feature at an evening Talk on medieval monastic life at an ancient site near Welshpool.

The talk on the monastery, known as the Strata Marcella, will take place at the Corn Exchange, Welshpool and will feature highlights from the Y Lanfa Powysland Museum collection.

This event is set to get underway on Monday, October 25 at 7pm, and will be presented by Amy Reynolds, PhD researcher in Medieval Welsh history at Bangor University.
