AN OSWESTRY council employee has been celebrated by councillors and colleagues, both past and present, after reaching 25 years of service.

Louise Humphreys works at Oswestry Town Council and was this week given a token of appreciation by the town's mayor, Councillor Mark Jones.

A spokesman praised Louise for her hard work, and echoed the words of one of her formers bosses on the crucial role she has played for the town council over the years.

"This week, Louise Humphreys celebrated 25 years of service at Oswestry Town Council," they said.

"The mayor, Cllr Jones presented Louise with a token of appreciation for her loyalty and the professionalism she has given to the town council.

"Former town clerk David Preston also attended to mark the occasion to share his thanks for all the help and support Louise gave to David when he was at the Town Council.

"He also highlighted the key role that Louise plays in the Oswestry In Bloom committee which has seen Oswestry successfully win 16 Gold awards in the Heart of England in Bloom competition."
