OSWESTRY'S mayor Councillor Mark Jones has welcomed another new business to Oswestry, with a gift shop arriving in Bailey Street.
The Bee's Knees opened its doors on Friday, October 8 and welcomed the mayor Cllr Jones and his mayoress, wife Ruth, stepping forward to the Bailey Street store to cut the ribbon.
Business owners and sisters Amie Bickley and Natalie Charmley thanked the mayor for his involvement and said how delighted they were to start trading.
Natalie, who will be welcoming customers into the store, said: "I have worked in Marks & Spencer for the last few years, but always wanted to run my own shop.
"This was just a great opportunity, so Amie and I have grabbed it with both hands."
Amie added: " We will be selling gifts and homeware.
"We are the go-to place to pop into for a snuggly jumper, or a Christmas decoration or two.
"We aim to make every home look and feel like the Bee's Knees."
The store will be open from Tuesday-Saturday.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Cllr Jones officially opened the pumpkin event at Llynclys Hall Farm Shop, which will run until October 31.
