FIVE lawyers from one of the region’s top law firms have been hard in training for the Oswestry 10k run scheduled to take place next week.

James Denton, Catherine Field and Myfanwy Murray will be joined by GHP Legal partners Euros Jones and Natalie Roberts when they set off from Church Street at 9am to loop around the town.

GHP Legal are one of the main sponsors of the run, which is being organised by Oswestry company Adrenaline Sporting Events and should have taken place in October last year.

The event aims to bring together an active community of people taking part in sporting events for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun, or simply to finish.

In preparation for the event James completed the 10k leg of the Shropshire Relay Triathlon a few weeks ago, whilst Euros recently ran a 10k organised by Nightingale House.

James said: "Several of us had signed up for the run in 2020.

"But Covid put paid to that, so it is nice to see it back on the agenda.

"It’s a great community event and it’s good to mix with colleagues outside of work in a different environment.

"As some of my friends outside GHP Legal are also doing the event, there should be some healthy competition.”

Other runners from the company have also been out fine tuning their training.

Natalie has been doing 5km Park Runs and former university rowing coach Catherine has been out cycling and hiking.

Myfanwy, a new addition to the GHP Legal team, ran the Oswestry 10k in 2019 alongside James, when she worked for a different law firm.
