KNOCKIN and Kinnerley Cricket Club will not be undertaking an extension to the clubhouse.
A committee meeting held in September was dominated by ongoing discussions regarding the facility improvements at The Nursery Ground.
A club spokesman said: "We have for some time been reviewing the proposed extension to the clubhouse and after initial delays due to Covid 19 and planning permission, the committee have regrettably decided not to proceed with the Sport England part funded project.
"Having considered the costs for project management, rising price of materials and the implications of VAT, it was decided that the overall financial stability of the club would be at risk should we proceed with the current plans.
"The committee are determined to utilise the strong financial position we find ourselves in due to various Covid 19 grants and will look for alternative solutions to improve the facilities for ladies cricket, groundsman storage and general maintenance which will have a long term legacy for the club."
