AN OSWESTRY filmmaker is holding open auditions for a drama series based around a care home setting.

Gareth Thomas, from Rocking Horse Media, will be holding the auditions for 'Karen' a pilot episode which he hopes could progress to a full series.

He will be holding the screen testing at Open Space Studios, in Arthur Street, on Sunday, October 10 but says anyone wishing to play the part of 'Izzy' – the main character – then they will have to book in advance.

Gareth added: "Auditions are taking place this Sunday for a locally-produced, original care home drama.

"We are going to produce an hour-long proof of concept pilot for a planned original drama series called 'Karen', set in a local care home.

"It is following the trials and tribulations of the home’s maverick manager, as the 21st century and industry modernisation finally starts to catch up with the beloved family-run home that she truly does call home.

"If the pilot is a success, we will be optioning a full series with the same cast.

"This coming Sunday we are holding our first wave of auditions for the pilot, which are for the role of Izzy, our home’s dippy and naive but loveable young receptionist.

"As always, experience isn’t necessary and we always look to support and spotlight Oswestry’s local talent so we welcome any budding actresses with a playing range of 18-25, whether they’ve acted before or not, to come along and give it a go.

"Booking is essential, though, so we need all potential Izzy’s to contact us on info@rockinghorsemedia.co.uk or call 07488 340440 to book a slot and order an audition pack."
