AN OSWESTRY-based stoma support group is holding its open day event for the first time since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shropshire Bums on Tums is holding the event at The Memorial Hall, in Smithfield Street, from 10.30am until 3pm on Thursday, October 7.

The event will be opened by Councillor John Price and Shropshire County Councillor Joyce Barrow.

A spokesman for the group said members are excited to be welcoming guests to the open day.

They said: “After having to cancel last year’s stoma open day due to the pandemic, we are delighted to announce that it is back this year at The Memorial Hall, Oswestry.

“Twelve manufacturers and distributors will be available to present their products, including any new ones and to talk to you about any problems you may be experiencing.

“Stoma care nurses will also be on hand to give advice. Colostomy UK, The Ileostomy Association and Bowel Cancer (Wales) will also be present.

“Come along and chat with other Ostomates and meet your suppliers.”

Complimentary, tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day, and there will also be a raffle with a top prize of £100, as well as many other prizes of store vouchers.
