A GOLF club near Oswestry has raised more than £500 for charity at an annual event.
The course record was broken at Henlle Park Golf Club, in Gobowen, as members took to the fairways to enjoy the annual pro’s open tournament.
Club PGA professional, Chris Hodges, was among the winners who returned a record-breaking score of 49 points.
The event also featured a raffle and silent auction, helping to raise £520 for Bowel Cancer UK.
Chris thanked everyone for their support at the event and those who made donations to be sent to the charity.
He said: “I'd like to thank everyone involved for making this year's tournament such a resounding success.
“There were more than 120 entrants in to the competition and many more that came to support the event.
“My thanks to Ralph and Angie for allowing me courtesy of the course again this year.
“Your kind donations, raffle money and silent auction, totalled £520 for a very worthy cause, Bowel Cancer UK.
“Thank you once again for your continued support, and I hope that we will be able to continue this competition next year.”
