A PUBLIC meeting over the closure of Oswestry’s ambulance station will be available to watch online.

The meeting, to be held at the Wynnstay hotel in Church Street on Monday, has been called by Oswestry Town Council and will be chaired by mayor Councillor Mark Jones.

Representatives from West Midlands Ambulance Service will be available to explain the reasons behind the closure of the base at the Cambrian Medical Centre, near Gobowen Road.

Town clerk Arren Roberts said that because of a limited space available at the hotel, people can also watch the public meeting online via Zoom.

He said: "Members of the public will be aware that Oswestry Town Council has called a meeting of the public on Monday, September 27 at 7pm at the Wynnstay Hotel.

"[This is] following the significant concerns expressed by the residents of Oswestry regarding the review of community ambulance stations.

"As there is only space for 120 people in the room, allocated on a first come basis, given the level of public interest the meeting will be broadcast via zoom."
