A FASHION show is being held in Chirk to raise funds for the town’s Christmas celebrations and lights committee.

The event, which will be held at Chirk Parish Hall in Holyhead Road, is set to take place on Friday, September 24.

It is set to be the first organised event held at the parish hall since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organiser Deborah Cooke, who is a member on the committee, has encouraged people to come along.

She said: “We’ll have a licenced bar and will be complying with all the Wrexham Council and Welsh Government guidance in relation to Covid-19.

“It will be a fun event for people to come along to, so we’d encourage people to attend.

“The last one we did was great. There will be a catwalk first, then the items will go on sale for the night.”

Deborah helped to organise a fashion event in the town in 2018, with an evening held to raise funds for Chirk Youth Football Club and Chirk Pre-School Playgroup.

The fashion show will feature a catwalk at the beginning of the evening, followed by a pop-up shop with all clothes from the event on sale.

Cakes baked by staff at Chirk Court Care Home will also be on sale, with proceeds going to the care home.

Tickets for the event cost £5 and can be purchased from Fine Things in Chirk, The Bridge Inn and at Chirk Parish Hall.

For further information or to purchase tickets, contact Deborah on 07739 961351.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start – there will also be a raffle with prizes to be won.
