AN OSWESTRY choir is back hitting the high notes after 18 months of silence, and is encouraging aspiring singers to get involved.

The Cantiones Choir is inviting singers from all voice parts to join them for an afternoon of learning choruses from Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, September 25 at Holy Trinity Church.

It will culminate in a very relaxed performance to friends and family at the end of the rehearsal.

The afternoon’s activities will be led by Cantiones’ musical director, Martin Bussey and there will be homemade cakes and tea available during the rehearsal.

The event will take place between 1.30pm and 5pm, and information and booking details are available on the choir’s website www.cantiones.org.uk or by emailing Val Baty on valbaty@aol.com.

Cantiones welcomes all voice parts, but has spaces within the permanent choir for tenors and sopranos.

If any tenors or sopranos are looking for a choir to sing with regularly, they can attend the event on September 25 to see what the choir is like and then apply to join.
