A NORTH WALES hotel, which has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, is on the lookout for a new owner.

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has put The Mulberry Inn in the Ceiriog Valley, on the market.

The Mulberry Inn, located near Llangollen, is described as 'an attractive detached two-storey property with two-storey extensions'.

It comprises 18 rooms with planning permission for an additional five or six, a bar and restaurant, lawned gardens and decking area, and parking for approximately 20 vehicles.

During lockdown the property was extensively refurbished and is in excellent condition throughout making it a perfect “turnkey” opportunity for a new owner.

The business is also said to have an excellent reputation with overseas visitors and, during the on season receives a high number of bookings from European and Australian holiday groups.

During the off season, a large part of the business is derived from special promotions and British walkers.

The hotel occupies a scenic and semi-rural location at the end of the village of Llwynmawr in the picturesque Ceiriog Valley, with Llangollen just a 10-minute drive over the Welsh hills.

The business is currently owned by Allan Leck who has decided to sell the venue in order to pursue a well-earned retirement.

Allan comments, “Having enjoyed eight years at The Mulberry Inn, I am looking forward to handing over the reins to new equally enthusiastic hoteliers who will no doubt appreciate and enjoy not just the beautiful views but also the well-established client base, many of whom have already booked for 2022 and beyond.”

Tom O’Malley, Associate Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “The hotel comes to the market in excellent condition throughout being almost fully refurbished during lockdown. Occupancy levels are currently running at almost 100 per cent throughout the season, with a strong level of bookings going into 2022.

“With the current trend of lifestyle buyers looking in these popular north Wales tourist destinations, The Mulberry Inn could be the perfect business for a family looking for a change of scenery.”

The Mulberry Inn is on the market with an asking price of £895,000.
