A BIRD’S eye view of the new Oswestry Innovation Park has been revealed by Shropshire Council.

The new images show the progress being made on a new roundabout which will greet visitors to the site off Mile End roundabout which is expected to open in 2024.

The roads infrastructure for the development has been underway since spring.

The construction of the second roundabout will not only allow the Oswestry Innovation Park to be brought forward but also aims to enhance the gateway into Oswestry and provide relief to congestion around the Mile End site.

The pictures were revealed after the council announced a series of night-time road closures in the coming months to tie the new road layout into the existing one.

Work to outline the new roundabout is underway, with the first of the road closures beginning on Monday, September 13.

The first closure, which will be in place between 8pm and 6am, will allow service ducts to be laid across the A5 by the services, and will be in place until Friday, September 17.

Closures will then take place from September 20 and November 4 to work on the northern tie in just north of the existing Mile End Roundabout.

Work is set to take place between November 5 and December 1 from 8pm to 6am for work on the southern tie in to the east of the existing Mile End Roundabout.
