WE begin our weekly step back in time in Llanrhaeadr in 1955 with a wonderful image of a traditional Welsh oven and a lady baking bread.

Sticking with the food theme we can also see an employee of United Dairies Creamery in Ellesmere hard at work on the cheese assembly line in 1954.

Both are stunning pictures which truly capture the era.

Next up is the cast of the West Felton Methodist Church ahead of their performance of the Nativity in 1955.

Finally and perhaps a favourite this week is the Ellesmere Scouts and Cubs’ Torchlight Procession with the picture taken in 1947, just two years after the end of the war.
