Llanrhaeadr's frustrating start to the JD Cymru North season continued with a goalless stalemate at home to Llangefni Town.

Manager Marc Griffiths apologised to supporters via social media following the match, tweeting: "Apologies to the supporters who decided to support the club and paid to come into the ground today, performance was well below the standards we set ourselves."

George West opened the scoring for the visitors after 20 minutes but the Saints replied through Jordan Harper's 35th minute penalty to restore parity before the break.

Ben Darby restored Alsager's lead just before the hour but the Saints were stirred with Jordan Ash skimming the woodwork with a strike before Harper blazed over the bar after finding himself clean through on goal.

However the Saints were not to be denied and snatched a point at the death as Joseph Oldham put through his own net.
