A COMMUNITY group which meets at Oswestry's Memorial Hall says it will delay a planned return of its meetings until next year because of Covid-19.

The Oswestry Spiritual Centre announced only two weeks ago that it had planned to return in August after the Hall reopened following the end of social distancing requirements on July 19.

However, with a rise in cases because of the Delta Variant, organisers have decided to delay its return.

Spokesman Val Laundy said: "We have decided not to reopen until January 2022 because of the fast infection rate of Covid in Oswestry and possible lock downs in the Autumn.

"We are very sorry as we know so many of our loyal supporters were looking forward to coming back but we have to think of everyone staying as safe as they can at the moment.
