Recognise any familiar faces at Oswestry's Knock and Snitch?

First opening its doors back in 2018 as a ‘Speakeasy’ style bar, it has now morphed into a more tropical themed, relaxing cocktail bar also offering some of the worlds tastiest gins and craft beers too.

Although there is no longer a password, customers are recommended to book in advance and will need to ring the classic doorbell on the gate to gain access to the secretive venue.

Knock & Snitch also offers a range of unique events to Oswestry, like comedy, live acoustic and themed quiz nights.

Led by Oswestry local Graeme Kirkham, who gained the majority of his experience/ideas from Sydney, Australia, his team includes some talented young bartenders including his nephew Kieran.

Katie Roberts is a key part of the bar team too, who not only creates some spectacularly distinctive tasting drinks but also has the funkiest coloured hair and nails to match.

The front of house team is made up of a dozen or so super friendly characters who have worked with Graeme for a number of years at other venues.

Graeme said: "When we first opened the bar our USP was about service. We wanted to create a bar which everyone could relax, enjoy table service, soak up the atmosphere and just generally have a chit chat with the team.

"It seems to have worked and that is all down to our brilliant front of house team, who make our customers experience memorable every time."

Like all venues in the hospitality sector, the bar is now recovering after a turbulent 16 months due to lockdowns and the global public health crisis.

However bar staff were from idle during the long closure.

Graeme said: "The lockdown brought its challenges but we were actually able to launch a cocktail takeaway and delivery service called Knock & Run.

"We have recently hit the pause button on it, just as the physical bar gets back up to speed, but we hope to re-launch early august with the assistance of ZOOM delivery services. If anyone wants to have a browse at our takeaway cocktail offering it’s online at www.knockandrun.co.uk

"Since re-opening back in May, we’ve had such a lovely response from the locals. We invested in some extra spaces outside, redecorated and amended our theme slightly and it has gone down really well from the feedback we’ve received.

"We’ve also enjoyed some brilliant themed weekends including our Pride evening which was a sell out. We’ve been lucky enough to host some local hen parties along with a few company team building Sunday afternoons, where we’ve put on a themed quiz’s and pizzas.

"But for me, it’s been a great laugh hosting our outdoor comedy events, which up until now have been selling out every time we post a new date."

Looking to the future Graeme revealed his ambitions to expand the business to Shrewsbury.

He said: "I’ve had my eyes set on Shrewsbury for a while but it would have to be the right timing and at the moment I think we’ve just got to wait out and see what happens with the economy come winter.

"Knock & Run is definitely getting a re-launch which will be cool, and we’re all looking forward to being able to put on some more themed events for Oswestry and the surrounding areas, once social distancing is eased."
