THE new owners of an historic pub in Llynclys have moved to reassure locals the building will continue to trade as a inn.
A new Facebook page was set up by the owners of The White Lion, at the crossroads in Llynclys, and confirmed to locals that the pub will be protected.
Last Friday, a social media page named Save The White Lion Llynclys was launched. It was aiming to add signatures to a petition for the pub to be made an asset of community value to ensure the building would not be knocked down.
However, the new owners have since addressed those concerns, stating that there will be major investment to bring the pub back to life.
A Facebook post on the new White Lion Llynclys page said: “We’d like to quickly address the rumours about our recent purchase of the pub.
“Please be assured we have absolutely no intention on knocking it down or developing housing.
“In fact as you’ll see, we’ll soon be starting a major investment in the pub to bring it back to life as soon as possible.”
