A CHEQUE has been presented to a community care centre in Ellesmere.
Doreen Roberts, chairman of the Ellesmere League of Friends Charity Shop, presented the cheque to Bethphage to support the Adults Learning Disabilities Group and the Day Centre.
Donations have also recently been given to 2nd Ellesmere Brownies, Parish Paths Partnership (P3), the Sculpture Initiative and the Comrades Sports and Social Club.
Doreen said: "Ellesmere League of Friends, through its charity shop in Scotland Street, is committed to giving support to the community care centre in Trimpley Street, but also to initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the health and social wellbeing of the community.
"We invite representatives, particularly of voluntary community groups, to apply for funding to support their cause. Letters of application should given information about your group, its aims and names of officers and why a donation would be helpful."
