A COMMUNITY council in the Ceiriog Valley recently co-opted a new councillor at its annual general meeting.
Jane Claybrook was co-opted to fill the vacancy on the Ceiriog Uchaf Community Council at the meeting which took place on the first Tuesday of the month.
Council chairman Jonathan Greatorex was re-elected to serve as chairman for the upcoming 12-month period.
He is set to be assisted by vice-chairman Keith Benning who was also re-elected.
Other items discussed included providing financial assistance to two charities. Both Wales Air Ambulance and Llanarmon DC Youth Club received £125 each from the council.
A donation of computer equipment was also made by the council to Ysgol Llanarmon DC.
Policing matters were discussed, with PCSO Gareth Jones attending the meeting on behalf of North Wales Police.
Mr Jones extended his thanks to the council for the benefits of the village’s CCTV and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras at Llanarmon.
He explained to councillors how the cameras were helping police to deal with untaxed and uninsured vehicles in the area.
