A POPULAR destination for young and old outside Oswestry is set for a summer of dinosaurs and pigs, among other events, to keep youngsters entertained during the school holidays.

Park Hall Countryside Experience, in Park Hall, has planned a series of themed weeks, starting with Dino Week from Saturday, July 24, running from Saturday to Saturday.

They will be adding dinosaurs to the usual livestock found at the farm attraction, as well as a fossil digging area, dinosaur training and their hilarious dino races made possible by their sporting farm team.

Joint owner/director Richard Powell said he and his staff are looking forward to each themed week and a busy summer of fun.

He added: “We are delighted to be heading into a summer filled to the brim with fun down on the farm.

"The activities we have got planned have proved really popular in the past, so we expect lots of happy customers in the next few weeks.

“As well as the themed events, visitors can enjoy all the usual activities at Park Hall.

"Inside we have our role-play village, play barn and brickworks, plus our brand new under 4's sensory play area.

"Outdoors, families can meet the animals, see the rabbits in Burrow Land, the goats in their new playground, take barrel train rides, and enjoy the Crazy Farm Adventure Course and our Woodland Adventure Play Area with a zip wire.

"There is non-stop fun on offer, and I hope visitors come to see us as many times as they can over the holidays!

“We will be open every day and tickets must be booked in advance online. Our activities last summer were very popular, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.”

From August 2, Maisy’s Maize Maze returns, with clues along the way to help lost visitors escape, plus a prize draw.

There will be enchanting characters, adventures and activities on the Fairy-tales and Giants for the week beginning August 9-15 and that is followed by Science week on August 16-22 featuring Grandolph the Wizard’s science show, a science lab and rocket-making classes.

Finally, from August 23-29, Park Hall will host Animal Magic week with the animal man Simon Airey.

Simon will be bringing animals from Corner Exotics, including snakes and scorpions for visitors to meet.

All the activities are included in the normal admission price, and children under 2 go free.
