A MEDICAL centre near Oswestry has warned its patients that a combination of Covid-19 isolation, sickness and holidays has left them short of doctors' appointments.

Staff at Knockin Medical Centre have posted on social media to inform patients that while the surgery is open, there is a limited amount of appointments as locum staff are being sought.

The post also pointed people to available treatment alternatives in Oswestry and Shrewsbury.

It said: "Due to a combination of sickness, annual leave and Covid isolation we are going to be very short of GP appointments this week.

"We are currently doing everything we can to source locum doctors, but in the mean time we ask for your assistance and patience.

"If you need medical help this week you can call 111 at any time.

"The Minor Injuries Unit at the Cambrian is open and we would also suggest the Urgent Care Centre situated at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

"We are open.

"However appointment availability is very limited.

"We will do our very best to help you. The reception team may ask a few more questions to enable us to signpost you to the most appropriate care.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
