AN OSWESTRY-based events company is bringing its gin and beer festival to Chirk for the summer of 2021.

Manic Events’ Gin & Beer Festival will be taking place at Brynkinalt Hall on Saturday, July 24.

It is the second time the company has organised the festival, after its debut last summer.

Director at Manic Events, Matt Lee, is looking forward to seeing more people permitted to enjoy the day this time due to the easing of lockdown restrictions.

He said: “It was very well-received last year – we did it in July which was in the middle of the pandemic when we thought Covid was going to be coming to an end.

“We were restricted on numbers last time, but this time we’re expecting a bigger audience with less restrictions in place.

“It will be a really nice, relaxing day. We’ve got some great artists and we’re trying to raise money for Hope House as well.

“We’ve got local crafters, a local artisan fair and local producers who will be offering different foods and so on.

“On top of all that we have the backdrop of Brynkinalt Hall which is a fantastic location.”

Live music will be performed by local artists, as well as Gary Barlow and Ed Sheeran tribute acts.

The artisan fair will see people displaying crafts and food, with stalls for candles, wax melts, brownies and bakes.

Money will be raised for Hope House Children’s Hospice with their gin, produced by Shropshire Distillery, on offer.

There will also be a special VIP section which has sold out, and Niche Patisserie from Oswestry will be producing an “ultimate afternoon tea”.

With plenty of local acts and produce on offer for guests to enjoy, Matt is delighted to be working alongside other companies in the area.

He said: “I think it’s so important to work with local producers and artists when it comes to events like this.

“We choose who we want to deal with, and I feel like it is very rewarding to meet local people and make connections with them.

“They’re all the same as us in the sense that they all want to do good things for the people in the area.”

The event will take place at Brynkinalt Hall between midday and midnight on Saturday, July 24.
