A MILITARY jet rattled windows in Oswestry on Monday as it flew over as part of a training exercise.
At around 12.30pm, on Monday, June 14, the town briefly roared to the sound of a BAE Systems Hawk, a light jet used by the Royal Air Force as a training aircraft.
More familiar in its Red Arrows guise, the jet was taking part in a training exercise in north Wales, from its base at RAF Valley on Anglesey.
Our Chief Reporter Barrie White, working in the town, said it was loud enough to hear over their headphones.
"Wow that was loud!" he said.
"I even had headphones on and the window shut but I could still hear it.
"It was quite exciting really, certainly perks up a Monday of work."
