NORTH Shropshire and Powys are braced for a series of heavy thunderstorms after this week's mini-heatwave is forecast to come to an abrupt end on Wednesday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms starting at 6pm on Wednesday and is expecting to last until 6am on Friday morning.
It is also warning people that there is likely to be heavy flooding with the storms and the potential to cause travel disruption across the two counties.
Currently, the weather warning is much of Mid and north east Wales, all of north Shropshire and much of England.
