A MAN suffered potentially serious injuries after a fall at an outdoor holiday park in Baschurch.

The incident took place at PGL Boreatton Park at around 3pm on Saturday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed an air ambulance and a land ambulance were sent to the site.

A WMAS spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen at Boreatton Park at 3.06pm on Saturday.

"One ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one male patient who was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulance."

A PGL spokesman confirmed that the person injured was a member of the holiday park team, and they were expected to be released from hospital on Monday.

They said: "Unfortunately, whilst participating in an abseiling session, one of our team sustained an injury when they landed awkwardly following their descent.

"In accordance with our incident response procedures, an ambulance was called straight away. The air ambulance was also dispatched.

"After an examination at the scene, our colleague was taken by road to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where he was admitted for tests.

"Following their treatment, we understand our colleague is doing well and they are hoping to be released from hospital later today."
