HALF of people over 50 in Wrexham & Flintshire have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.

Public Health Wales data shows 27,094 people aged 50 and over in Wrexham have been given both doses of a vaccine up to May 9 – 49 per cent of the area's age group.

Over in Flintshire, there have been 33,472 people over 50s who have been fully vaccinated from the virus – a total of 51 per cent of the area's age group.

Across Wales, a third of the over-16 population have had both doses (850,000 people). In total, there have been 1.9 million single jabs given across the country too (75 per cent).

Vaccinations are being given at 546 locations across Wales, including at 360 GPs' surgeries, 41 vaccination centres and 35 hospitals.

The Welsh Government aims for all adults to have been offered a vaccine by the end of July.

50 to 54: 1,646 administered (14 per cent)

55 to 59: 1,911 administered (16 per cent)

60 to 64: 1,966 administered (20 per cent)

65 to 69: 5,558 administered (65 per cent)

70 to 74: 8,640 administered (91 per cent)

75 to 79: 6,027 administered (92 per cent)

80 and over: 7,461 administered (90 per cent)
