A YOUNG girl will bravely face the chop to help other children battling cancer.

Nia Drury, aged 10, of Buckley, has decided to cut off her locks, currently 13 inches with the hopes of growing it to 16 inches, as a donation to the Little Princess Trust

The charity, which was established in 2006 after the original ‘Little Princess,’ Hannah Tarplee, of Hereford, died of a Wilms tumour in 2005, collects real hair donations to be made into wigs for terminally ill children who have lost their own.

This is not the first time Nia has decided to do the selfless act, but the third - when the first time she was just six years old.

Mum Adie said: "She's just amazing, she is the nicest, sweetest little girl always thinking of others.

"I don't know many people who have done it three times, especially someone so young. She's so selfless.

"It has always been her idea. Her hair is currently 13 inches but she wants to get it to 16 inches so they can make a long wig."

The family has also set up a Just Giving page which people can donate to at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nia-drury

The youngster has already raised £120 of her £150 target.

Adie added: "She likes giving. Nia loves growing her hair so she can have it cut. She likes the challenge and each time she gets it cut she goes shorter and shorter so in July she will be getting a pixie cut.

"She's just so unbelievably selfless."
