A WOMAN was left feeling 'shocked and annoyed' after a brick was hurled at her car as she was travelling on the A525.

Earlier this week, a woman was using the busy on Ruthin Road when she heard a 'massive bang' and realised a brick had been thrown at her car.

The driver, who did not wish to be named, said: "This is the second time in three years something like this has happened to me.

"I was just driving along and heard a massive bang, I knew I hadn't run anything over and I saw a brick in the mirror so I just knew it had been thrown at me.

"I checked the damage when I got home and there was a dent in the door and some of the paintwork had come off so now I will have to pay to get it repaired.

"I'm just so annoyed. This is the second time this has happened to me. I didn't see anyone this time but the first time it was a group of youths back in 2018.

"It's dangerous. It's dangerous throwing anything at a car never mind a brick.

"What's worse is I sometimes travel with my child. Half a foot up, it would have gone through their window. It's just dangerous.

"What if it happened to someone whose reaction is shock and then they would have swerved into other traffic."

The driver said instances like this seem to be happening more and more, where not too long ago a police car was hit by a large rock.

She added: "I'm going to be out of pocket financially and I was looking to get a new car.

"It just puts me off using that road. It's such a convenient road, I use it all the time for work or the school run but it makes your fearful."

A spokesman for North Wales Police added they received a call at 1.48pm on May 12 to a report that a brick had been thrown on the A525 Ruthin Road, Wrexham, and hit a passing car causing damage.

They added: "Our investigation is ongoing and ask that if anyone saw the incident to get in touch with us on 101 or via our live webchat quoting ref Z065760."
