OSWESTRY Film Society’s long-awaited new season will start next month with six films to tempt viewers back to the cinema after the long break.

The Society is showing films on the first and third Tuesday of the month from June to August, starting June 1 with Tom Hanks in the acclaimed drama A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood.

Hanks plays legendary US children’s TV presenter, Fred Rogers, finding the best in everyone, even the cynical writer sent to profile him.

Michael Hudson, from the society, said he is looking forward to welcoming everyone back.

He said: “Now Kinokulture cinema has re-opened, the film society is back and bringing you the films you never knew you wanted to see.

"Our new season has six recent films including US drama, courtroom thrillers, a feminist retelling of a classic story and our first ever Polish film, Oscar-nominated Corpus Christi.

"We finish our season in August with two brilliant Australian films Judy & Punch and Babyteeth.

"From comedy to period drama, there’s something for everyone.”

Tickets are £5-6, social distancing and other safety measures are in place at the cinema, for more information and links to buy tickets, visit the society’s website at www.oswestryfilmsociety.com
