AN OSWESTRY artist is set to return his works to public viewing in an environment very close to home.

Jon Young, whose work is displayed at Oswestry Framing Company, in Leg Street, will be opening his studio on the outskirts of the town for people to enjoy.

The open gardens will be spread out over three weekends in May, June and July at a property in Eardiston, near West Felton, and coffee and cake will be on offer too.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors back to my garden and serving coffee and cake while they enjoy the artwork,” said Jon.

"If you’ve missed strolling round gardens and galleries then this is for you.

"Over three weekends this summer I will be opening my art studio and serving coffee and cakes for you to enjoy in my glorious garden.

"Beautiful original paintings with lots of new work as well as prints and cards of Jon’s stunning art will be available for your perusal.

"Admission is free with a small charge for refreshments."

Jon will be hosting “Open Gardens and Studio” with coffee and cake on May 22-23, June 12-13 and July 10-11 at The Granary, Eardiston, Shropshire SY11 4HA, between 10am and 4pm.

He will also be appearing at the 'Art in the Barn event between June 17-21, which is hosted by Sweeney Hall Hotel.

Sean Evans, from the hotel, said: "Our new beach huts and geodomes will all be available to reserve and there is plenty of outside covered seating in addition to the indoor bar areas.

"We are delighted to be hosting Jon Young Art in the Barn again and for people to return to relaxed hospitality in our beautiful grounds."

Art in the Barn will be open daily from 12-7pm.

Admission is free and booking is not required for the exhibition and refreshments, but visitors will need to book ahead with The Sweeney for meals or afternoon teas.
