A POPULAR Deeside cafe will remain closed despite being given the go ahead to re-open due to the 'high risk' to vulnerable customers.
Libby’s Café, a community café in Connah’s Quay, has been a social hub and has served up cups of tea to local residents for over 10 years.
Sadly the coronavirus pandemic has meant they have been closed for over 12 months.
Many of the customers who use Libby’s Café are older, disabled or more vulnerable and so are at higher risk of the virus.
As social distancing measures are likely to be in effect for some time yet, the café trustees have reluctantly taken the decision to make the café ‘dormant’ as a company until it is safe to reopen.
Company Secretary, Salli Edwards, said: "We are really sad that we are not able to reopen the café just yet, but we want to do this as safely as possible for our customers.
"We would like to let the local community know that the café has not closed permanently, we will reopen, and we look forward to welcoming back our customers in the future.
"When the café does reopen we will share this news via local media and contact the groups that held various activities at the café to let them know."
