RUGBY has made its first tentative steps to returning in Powys.
A new over 35s summer touch rugby competition has been launched in the south of the county.
The league format will consist of home and away fixtures taking place once a fortnight.
The matches will be 11 a side with roll on, roll off subs and the game length will be 4x12 minute quarters.
The tournament features teams from Brecon RFC, Builth Wells RFC, Gwernyfed RFC and Rhayader RFC.
It is hoped rugby will return by August as declining virus rates and the increase in vaccinations across Wales ensures the Welsh Government alert level continues to decrease.
Clubs across Powys have begun to take their first steps back to normality with revised senior training incorporating the latest government advice.
Meanwhile Rhayader Rugby Club, who did not compete last season, have returned to training with the aim of re-establishing itself in the WRU League.
