A POPULAR half-marathon event in Mid-Wales has been cancelled for the second consecutive year.
The Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon, which was set to take place in September, has been cancelled amid the Covid-19 situation.
Chairman of the local organising committee for the event, David Thomas, believes that despite the possibility of the situation improving by September, the event going ahead still seemed unlikely.
He said: "Things may have improved by September but, at the moment, we cannot foresee 1,500 people running around the lake and up to 150 participants mixing in our community hall so we have taken the reluctant decision to cancel the race again this year.
“We're looking forward to staging the race in 2022 and welcoming a bumper crowd."
