WEST Mercia Police has ruled out any 'third party involvement' in the 'unexplained' deaths of two people in Pant, outside Oswestry, on Wednesday.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 70s were both found at the address, which is believed to be towards Oswestry near Llynclys, but police have stressed that they do not suspect anyone else to be involved.

A spokesman for the force said investigations are continuing.

"At around 10.45am yesterday police were called with concerns for a man’s safety in Pant, Oswestry," a spokesman said.

"The bodies of a man in his 50s and a woman in her 70s were sadly found at the address."

The spokesman added: "The investigation continues and next of kin have been informed.

"We would like to reassure the community that we do not believe there to have been any third party involvement at this time. "

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance confirmed it was called to the scene to treat a man with heart problems.

They said: "We were called to reports of a cardiac arrest at a property in Pant, Oswestry at 10.46am yesterday.

"An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

"On arrival crews found a man who was unable to be saved and was confirmed dead on scene. A woman was also sadly found deceased at the property."
