THE reopening week for one Oswestry restaurant was made even better after a visit from a famous face.
Fat Rabbit, in Bailey Street, was visited by BBC presenter and historian Ruth Goodman on Saturday.
Restaurant owner, Linda Clark, was pleased with the visit from Ruth, who enjoyed the vegan eatery so much that she visited twice in one day.
Linda said: “She came for a coffee in the morning and was really interested in our vegan pancakes, so she came back later and had one of those.
“It was really nice.”
Fat Rabbit is one of the many town centre restaurants to reopen for outdoor service this week after Covid-19 restrictions were eased on Monday.

Linda said the increase in footfall has been noticeable, and it has been great to see customers again.
“It has been really good,” she said. “It has got better and better every day.
“Since Monday it has been great, especially on Wednesday when the market was back open.
“Everyone seems to be supporting local businesses which is really good.”
