AN OSWESTRY business has donated almost £7,000 to a local children’s charity after fundraising efforts in 2020.

Aico, based in Maesbury Road, raised a total of £6,857.33 for Gobowen-based charity The Movement Centre.

The Movement Centre, which helps children with disabilities affecting movement control, was one of Aico’s chosen charities for 2020.

It has also pledged more money to the charity in 2021 as part of the centre’s 25th anniversary Sponsor a Child campaign.

Fundraising and marketing officer at The Movement Centre, Curtis Langley, said the charity is appreciative of the support it has received from Aico.

“Obviously, last year was a difficult year for everybody and all charities,” he said.

“Having the support of local, corporate partners is fantastic for us – not only for raising funds, but also for raising awareness locally as well.

“Having Aico on board, plus others, has been brilliant.

“We worked really closely with them on certain fundraising ideas including the 2.6 Challenge which was launched last April.

“Through their own fundraising, they made a donation at Christmas as well. A big thank you to Aico for their amazing support.”
