A ROAD remains closed and recovery continues after an articulated lorry overturned near Bangor-on-Dee, police have said.

The advice came from the Wrexham rural police team just before 1.10pm on Monday.

A spokesman said: "Please be aware, the A525 at Halghton Bridge will be closed for the foreseeable time due to an overturned HGV.

"Please avoid the area."

Shortly after 3.50pm, PC Thomas Hough provided an update.

He said: "With regards the collision on the A525, it is still closed and we are on scene with recovery and the environmental agencies regarding spillage of loads. "We will update as soon as we can, however expect it to be closed still for some time."

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two crews attended - one from Wrexham and one from Whitchurch - but have since left the scene.

An ambulance crew was also called to the incident by police at around 12.40pm.

A patient was discharged at the scene, a spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said.
