THERE will be a special Easter ‘pebble hunt’ with the chance to win prizes from local businesses taking place on Sunday.

It is being organised by a company new to the area in Oswestry called Pebbles People, which hides ‘positive pebbles’ containing uplifting messages around towns for people to find.

A spokesman for the company said: “We are currently in the process of organising a community pebble hunt on Easter Sunday, where we will hide lots of these pebbles along with ones that can be redeemed for prizes from local businesses.

“We have already had more than 30 incredibly generous prizes offered by businesses from a wide range of different industries, from hospitality, to art and jewellery, through to fitness and even golf.

“It’s not going to be a structured event due to Covid-19 safety considerations.

“We will simply hide the pebbles in the morning and invite the community to take a walk through the town centre and park from 10am onwards to find some pebbles.

“This is something we are doing for free.

“Our aim is simply to support businesses in the lead-up to their re-opening, get the community out of the house, promote mental wellbeing and provide local people with the chance to win a prize.”
