THE Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has confirmed it is making enquiries after an incident at a Chirk factory after a worker was injured.

An air ambulance was called to the Chirk area on Wednesday morning after an employee at Kronospan suffered an accident.

HSE was made aware of the incident by the factory.

A HSE spokesman said: “HSE is aware of the incident and we are making enquiries.”

The worker suffered the accident while unloading a lorry, a Kronospan spokesman confirmed.

They said: "One of our employees suffered an accident while unloading a lorry this morning.

"He has been taken to hospital and as is the normal case in such situations, the HSE has been informed."
